“So down it came.”

Legal group reveals how atheist activists bluff schools into eliminating God

A portrait of Jesus Christ had been hanging in a hallway at Royster Middle School in Chanute, Kansas for more than 50 years.

Amazingly, all it took was one threatening letter from the Freedom From Religion Foundation in Madison, Wisconsin to have it removed.

“Last week, when Superintendent Richard Proffitt was contacted by a lawyer representing the Freedom From Religion Foundation with a letter that called the picture ‘an egregious violation of the First Amendment,’ he realized it could not longer hang in the school’s hallways,” read an excerpt from an NBC news report.

“So down it came.”

Profitt was obviously convinced that the Freedom From Religion folks were correct about the legality of the portrait.

“The attorneys were very clear that it was a violation of the Establishment Clause in the way that it was hanging,” Profitt told was quoted as saying.

That scenario is a typical example of how the Freedom From Religion Foundation, and several similar organizations, manage to bully school administrators into removing all references to Jesus Christ specifically, or Christianity in general.

There are many other examples of school districts around the nation that receive threatening letters from the FFRF and give up without a fight.

A school district in Orange County, Florida cancelled plans to allow an outside group to distribute free Bibles to students on Religious Freedom Day after the FFRF threatened to hand out pamphlets promoting atheism.

A school in Jackson County, West Virginia had crosses removed from a memorial honoring a popular teacher who was killed in a car accident after the FFRF complained.

A school in Jackson City, Ohio agreed to move a portrait of Christ that had been hanging since 1947 from school property and pay a $95,000 fine for allowing it in the first place, after the FFRF complained and the American Civil Liberties Union filed suit.

Islam is a political system not a religion

by Civilus Defendus, with a hat tip to Kali Politus

Chapter 19 The M.O. of the Muslims since 600 AD and the M.O. of the Muslims today.

The more things change, the more they remain the same.

The Agenda of the Muslims since Islam was created has been the destruction of every religion other than Islam.

Muslims have spread child abuse, abuse of women, violence, torture, rape, Terrorism, and war since the day Islam was created.

Islam is a political system, not a religion.

You have to ignore all of history to allow yourself to support Islam or believe Islam is not a War Machine.

From the Pastor's Corner.....

by Reverend George W. Rutler

Last week over 150,000 people attended the annual New York Comic Con exhibition nearby at the Javits Center. Many dressed as their favorite comic-book characters: Batman, Spiderman, Superman and Wonder Woman. Along with Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck and Dick Tracy, they added more color to our already interesting neighborhood.

The saints glowing on our windows and the statues reflecting the votive lights testify that Holy Mother Church produces the most fascinating characters, and—unlike the comic book heroes—these were real. More than that, they changed our world for the better and combated the real Prince of Lies who has menaced more people through the ages than any comic-book villain.

In recent days, as eyes look warily and perplexed on the spreading threat of Islam, I have thought of the genuine heroes who confronted that challenge in their various generations. If we are shocked at the genocide of Christians, the beheading of children, the torture and crucifixion of fathers and their young sons, we should remember the real heroes who were familiar with such slaughter in their own day. In Tours in 732, the Frankish king Charles Martel defeated the Islamic army using clever weaponry against great odds. Then there were Richard the Lionheart, Saint Louis IX, János Hunyadi, Saint John of Capistrano, Don Juan of Austria, Andrea Doria, Saint Pius V, and Jan Sobieski, all of whom lived lives that could constitute an entire college course in history, psychology, politics, and religion. If some of these names are now obscure, that is the fault of those who do not appreciate how, if any one of them had failed, our world would be far more miserable today and its institutions unrecognizable, and it is entirely possible that none of us would be alive.

Europe and, to an increasing extent, our own country are experiencing waves of Islamic immigrants who are not welcome in some of their own lands. Mohammed is the most popular name for boys in London now, and Arabic is the fastest-growing language in the United States. Honest and needy refugees expect the Christian welcome that the Gospel enjoins, for no one is foreign to Christ. But the spiritual gift of discernment should distinguish the immigrant from the invader, and there is palpable evidence that some people of ill will pretend to be refugees when in fact they are of the ilk that Charles Martel and all those other real heroes confronted.

The popular press downplayed the fact that those men and women in the school in Oregon were killed because they were Christian, albeit by a homegrown fanatic. Perhaps the journalists could not cope with the fact that Christ is being crucified every day in many ways. He predicted that, which is why the figures in our stained-glass windows and beckoning from our statues are not Superman and Wonder Woman, but saints and the Lady who is Queen of Saints.

The Rev. George William Rutler is pastor of St. Michael's located in New York City. Father Rutler has made documentary films in the United States and England, contributes to numerous scholarly and popular journals and has published 16 books on theology, history, cultural issues, and the lives of the saints, and also one book on sports, as a member of the U.S. Squash Racquets Association.

TWO REPORTS CITE CHRISTIAN ANNIHILATION

from Bill Donohue
Catholic League for Religious and Civil Rights

Bill Donohue comments on two reports released this week that describe religious persecution around the world:

We know that people of every religion are being targeted for murder and plunder in many parts of the world, and that the Communist regimes in China and North Korea are hotbeds of Christian persecution. But nothing compares to what is happening in the Middle East and Northern Africa. Quite simply, we are witnessing the annihilation of the Christian people.

In the U.S. Department of State’s “International Religious Freedom Report for 2014,” there is a detailed account of the many ways in which Muslim-run nations are wiping out Christianity. In the report’s Executive Summary, Christians are mentioned 23 times in 6 pages, and they are alwayscited as victims, never perpetrators, of religious persecution.

“In Mosul, Iraq and nearby towns,” the report says, “shortly after the takeover of the area by militants of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), Christians who had been given the choice to convert, pay a ruinous tax, or die, gathered their families and what few possessions they could carry, and sought all possible means to escape.”

The United Kingdom charity, Aid to the Church in Need, also released a report on this subject. The situation is so bad in Iraq that it concluded that Christianity may be extinct in five years. “There is not a single Christian family left in Mosul,” said an observer. “The last one was a disabled Christian woman. She stayed because she could not get out. They came to her and said you have to get out and if you don’t we will cut off your head with a sword. That was the last family.”

The annihilation of Christians is not confined to Iraq. A Syrian Catholic archbishop wrote that “My cathedral has been bombed six times and is now unusable. My home has also been hit more than 10 times. We are facing the rage of an extremist jihad: we may disappear soon.”

President Obama is in a position to lead an international effort to destroy radical Islamic terrorists. Yet he can’t even call them by name, never mind demonstrate leadership.

REMEMBER THE PHARISEES !!!

Remember the Pharisees...... they created their "own way." Added rules. Changed it all up. Thought their "new age" decrees were enlightening, but ole Satan had them, didn't he? Made them think they knew more what was right than God knew. Made them elevate themselves in their own minds and shut out the Holy God of the Kingdom.

This is what happens when the solid Rock is chiseled away and "formed" into a different "creature." The creature is the creation of false teachings, etched by godless "sellers" who since the beginning of time let Satan have their hearts and minds..... and tongues, and do the work of trapping into deception... calling bad "good," and good "bad."

God told us in the last days we will see this. Whether Jesus will come soon or whether the last days of this time means another "wiping out," I don't know. But I know God is working, and God knows more than these or me or you.

People are being given CLEAR CHOICES to make today, aren't they? It is blatant, in your face acts and works that go against what God says in His Word. There is NO CONFUSION in HIS MESSAGE. Americans have a choice..... follow God or the godless.... be blessed or condemned. Believe in God or make men and women idols who are today's changers, selling their wares like the Pharisees to a people. America's "pharisees" come out in plain sight. God knows you see and hear them. Now, YOU choose who to follow.....Satan and his taken or rebuke them.....in the name of the God of Heaven's Armies and His Son Jesus Christ.

Pope Francis :

What Pope Francis Should Tell America

Oregon Shooting Reminds Christians of Bull's-eye on Backs

'This much we do know: There has been an increasing demonization … in our culture'

From WND

The torture of Christians and repression of Christianity around the world is common knowledge, from the prison camps in North Korea and the extermination campaigns in the Sudan to the government attacks in China and in large portions of what used to be the Soviet Union.

Then there are the vast Arab lands where converting to Christianity is a capital offense and just being a Christian can land you in jail, or worse.

But now, the mass shooting that left nine people dead at an Oregon community college has brought with it the chilling reminder that Christians are targets in America, too.

“One of the things that I address in my book is this horrendous increase in the targeting of Christians in America,” said Carl Gallups, referring to his new book “Be Thou Prepared.” “Now, that’s unthinkable when you consider why our nation was founded, how it was founded, the First Amendment, the faith of most of our Founding Fathers, Christianity, Judeo-Christian understanding, and now we are at a place in America where Christians are being targeted.”

Iraqi Christians Who Escaped ISIS Denied Asylum in the US

by Kathy Burke
NewsMax

The United States reportedly denied asylum to dozens of Iraqi Christians who escaped Islamic State (ISIS) militants — even though they had family sponsors.

The Daily Mail reports the 22 Christians known as Chaldeans were among a group of 27 being held at a San Diego detention center after crossing into the United States through the Mexican border in the spring.

According to the Daily Mail, America has accepted 727 fleeing Christians this year; 4,200 Muslims have been granted asylum.

Lisa Jones, director of Christian Freedom International, said though Christians represent a much smaller segment of the Middle East population than Muslims, they are persecuted more often.

When Muslims Are Moments From Executing Lady… She Smiles And Utters ONE Word

Would you die for your faith? We all like to think we would, but most of us — blessedly — are never put in that position.

Twelve brave Syrian missionaries were put in just that position, though. On Aug. 28, the 12 were captured by the Islamic State group and asked to renounce their faith in Christianity. They didn’t, and paid the price.

The Gospel Herald reported that the massacre took place on Aug. 28 just outside Aleppo, Syria. According to Christian Aid Mission, a group that helps indiginous Christians in areas where they’re likely to encounter persecution, four Christians were crucified and another eight were beheaded.

“Villagers said some were praying in the name of Jesus, others said some were praying the Lord’s Prayer, and others said some of them lifted their heads to commend their spirits to Jesus,” the ministry director told Christian Aid. “One of the women looked up and seemed to be almost smiling as she said, ‘Jesus!’”

Zionica.com was founded in June, 2010 to report on the impact of Christianity around the world. We believe in the ultimate fulfilment of Isaiah 11:9, which states:
“…for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.”
Therefore, we expect to see the trials and triumphs of Christianity develop through time and change the world. Mt. Zion is a Biblical metaphor for the Kingdom of God. The word Zionica was coined to describe the advancement of God’s Kingdom on earth.

CHRISTIAN PERSECUTION? NO. ANNIHILATION!

WASHINGTON – The first delegation of Syrian Christian church leaders to visit the U.S. since civil war broke out in March 2011 spoke at the Heritage Foundation, issuing a stunning warning that the nation’s Christian population could vanish.

by Alyssa Farah
WND

“Today we are faced with a potential extinction of the church,” Patrick Sookhdeo, chairman of the Westminster Institute, warned. “Not just in Syria. We’ve seen it in Iraq. The church could fall in Lebanon.”

The panel discussion, “Marked for Destruction: The Plight of Syria’s Christians,” featured Syrian Christian leaders Rev. Adib Awad, the general secretary of the National Evangelical Synod of Syria and Lebanon; H.E. Bishop Elias Toumeh, Orthodox bishop of Pyrgou-Syria; Rev. Riad Jarjour, former general secretary of the Middle East Council of Churches; H.E. Bishop Dionysius Jean Kawak of the Syrian Orthodox Church; Bishop Armash Nalbandian of the Armenian Church of Damascus, and Bishop Julian Dobbs.

Dobbs said Syria “used to be one of the easiest places in the Arab world to be a Christian across the Middle East.

Never Enough Pastor Appreciation

By NikeChillemi

The second Sunday in October (10/15/2015) is Pastor Appreciation Day, and the entire month of October is Pastor Appreciation Month.

It’s quite common for Christians to ‘church shop’ when moving to a new community, or if they’re dissatisfied with their current church. They visit a number of churches until they find a church that fills their needs.
