As the plight of Christians across the Middle East worsens, a Jerusalem archbishop has condemned the entire political world for its silence and lack of action on the issue. Former White House Chief of Staff John Sununu has meanwhile pointed the finger at President Barack Obama, accusing the latter of "indifference" in the face of the suffering Christian communities.

Archbishop Maroun Lahham, the Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem's vicar for Jordan, said in an interview that "the international community is absolutely inert, absent, or rather a silent accomplice" in the persecution of Christians, Catholic World News reported.

"The international Christian community, however, has never ceased to send aid to meet the needs of the brothers of the Church," Lahham added. "The political world is absolutely to be condemned, but the world of Caritas helps us, especially the Italian Episcopal Conference."

The comments come in light of reports of tens of thousands of Iraqi Christians facing dire circumstances as refugees, hunted back home by terror group IS, but with little prospects of sustaining a livelihood in Jordan and other neighboring countries.

The U.S. and its international allies have been bombing terror targets across Iraq and Syria in an effort to halt the expansion of IS, though the operation has only seen limited success. Relief groups have also been providing aid to the refugees, but the demand far exceeds the supply.

Islamic Group Sends Parents Body Parts of Daughters, Video Showing Their Brutal Rape and Torture

The horrors rage on the jihad war against the West, while the West turns itself inside out to defend Islam. Unbelievable.

ISIS Sends Parents Body Parts of Daughters, Video Showing Their Brutal Rape and Torture

Horrific stories of the ongoing genocide being carried out by the Islamic State terror group against Christians and other religious minorities were shared at a conference in New York last week, with one account revealing that a couple was sent the body parts of their dead daughters, along with a video of them being raped and tortured.

The Catholic News Agency described the stories shared by human rights activists at the #WeAreN2016 international congress on religious freedom as “graphic, brutal and raw.”

“One account told of a couple whose children had been captured by ISIS militants. When they answered their door one day, they found a plastic bag on their doorstep. It contained the body parts of their daughters and a video of them being raped and tortured,” the report described.

Another account shared that IS fighters in Mosul, Iraq, came to the house of a Christian woman, threatening her to leave or pay the jizya tax. Before the woman could leave the house with her daughter, who was in the shower at the time, the militants torched the house, burning the daughter alive.

The girl reportedly died in her mother’s arms, with her last words being “Forgive them.”

A Yazidi teenage girl, 15-year-old Samia Sleman, spoke about her six months in IS captivity, revealing that there are thousands of women and girls being held as sex slaves by the extremists. What is more, the jihadists rape girls as young as 7 years of age, and force them to convert to Islam.

“Why are these innocent kids and these innocent people suffering this much in that region?” Sleman asked.

“Why don’t we see any action being taken? Even though it’s been over a year and a half now, we’ve seen horrible things happen to us minorities, especially Yazidis and Christians, in that region, and we don’t see the international community taking concrete actions against the Islamic State.”

The U.S. State Department, the British House of Commons, and the European Union Parliament have all in the past few months recognized the genocide Christians, Yazidis, and other minorities in Iraq and Syria are facing, but victims are saying that specific actions need to be taken.

Blogger's comment:

There is no greater evil, other than abortion, that is being perpetrated on the innocent than what is taking place in the Middle East and other parts of the world.  Nations are tolerating and witnessing a genocide that Hitler could only dream of.  Shame on all free nations for not speaking out loud and clear and not taking action to destroy such savegery and barbarism.

Please pray the parents, siblings and families of ISIS's victims and for the young girls and women held captives as sex slaves.

Pray daily for all Christians and religious minorities who are suffering and dying at the hands of Islamists and for defeat of their enemy.

PERSECUTION OF REFUGEES IN GERMANY

An estimated one million refugees are now living in Germany. Taking in so many refugees has posed some serious challenges for the country. One problem which had been ignored until recently is the increase in aggression and violence towards Christians in the refugee hostels.

For this reason, Open Doors carried out a survey of Christian refugees in temporary accommodations in Germany who had experienced persecution on the grounds of faith. These were put into a report entitled Religiously motivated attacks on Christian refugees in Germany, consisting of 231 interviews carried out among refugees in a variety of locations in Germany over the last two months.

Thomas Muller, an Open Doors persecution analyst, said, "Christian refugees from many different countries are trying and failing to find safety in Europe, and it is likely that the report only shows the tip of the iceberg. It is clear that many Christian refugees – especially those who are converts to the Christian faith – live in fear of persecution from Muslim refugees who make up the majority of residents in the refugee hostels set up throughout Europe. It is sobering to hear persecuted Christians telling a Western country that they recognize the very same persecution patterns in operation as in their home countries."

HARASSMENT AND PERSECUTION

The Christian refugees involved in the survey indicated that they had suffered from persecution both at the hands of fellow refugees and through hostel security staff. Some 75% stated that this had happened repeatedly. Persecution was suffered in the following ways (with the number of people affected in brackets):

Insults (96)
Bodily harm (86)
Death threats - also towards family (73)
Very loud religious music or prayer (62)

In addition there were physical attacks in the form of punches, spitting, pushing and sexual abuse.

THE TIP OF THE ICEBERG

These figures are just the tip of the iceberg. Many Christian refugees are frightened of facing more difficulties if they report incidents. For instance, there is genuine fear that the information could get into the wrong hands and cause danger for relatives still living in their home countries. Others have given up all hope of receiving help. The research was also limited by the time available to local partners working with refugees. It is therefore clear that the actual number of incidents is far higher than recorded in this report.

Only one in five of those surveyed had been to the police or hostel authorities to report an incident. In most cases nothing was done to offer the victims protection. Very often the Christians were not taken seriously or faced complaints against their own conduct, which made their situation worse. The language barrier also proved to be a great problem, particularly where unsympathetic translators were used and translators relayed false information.

He Found Jesus at Just the Right Time

He Found Jesus at Just the Right Time

Gospel for Asia

Balwant looked at the well near his house. He wondered if he could do it, if he could jump in and end his life. Would it be quick? Would it be painless? He had already experienced more pain than he wanted to endure. Death would be a welcome end to this marred life of illness and rejection he was now living. He didn’t know what else he could do.

The Stigma of Having Leprosy
Balwant was an educated man who worked as a tutor, helping the children in his village with their studies. He had a wife, three daughters and son. When he was in his 30s, he noticed white patches on his leg. They itched and then became numb. It turned out to be leprosy, a chronic skin disease that can cause serious nerve damage and leave a person disfigured if left untreated.

Even though the disease is curable with a multidrug treatment, the stigma that comes along with it is not.

When the people in Balwant’s village found out he had leprosy, they started avoiding him. Balwant was one of tens of thousands of people in South Asia suffering from leprosy and the humiliation and ostracism that comes along with it. For centuries, leprosy patients have been barred from accessing common wells or participating in festivals, because people believe their presence increases the risk of contagion. They’re often rejected, even by family members who fear they, too, will “catch” the disease or have to endure social rejection because of them.

There are some people who even think leprosy is a punishment from the gods for past sins, so they avoid those affected because they do not want to incur the wrath of the gods.

Balwant and his family ended up moving from the village.

Christian Woman Raped and Beaten After Testifying Against Imam in Uganda

By Florence Taylor
Christianity Today

A Christian woman has been beaten and raped by Muslims in Eastern Uganda after she testified against an imam who allegedly killed her father, according to Morning Star News.

The 22-year-old woman had testified in court that Sheikh Musana Ibrahim, the imam of a mosque in Kanyumu village, Pallisa District, and two other Muslims killed her father, Samson Mukama, on January 28.

She said she was beaten and raped on April 19 and found unconscious in a pool of blood that evening in Kanginima village, having been attacked by three Muslim men.

"We shall kill you today because you are the one who made our sheikh to be imprisoned," one of the men said to her, she told Morning Star News from her hospital bed.

The woman, whose identity has not been revealed, was present when her father was killed, but managed to escape.

"I was able to identify the sheikh because we are neighbours, and my father had been questioning him about the Islamic faith not leading one to salvation with God," she said.

"The sheikh had said to him, 'You have no respect of our religion, and we have come for your life today.' They started strangling my father as well as hitting him on the head with a big stick. When my father fell down, I managed to escape through the window."

Ibrahim was arrested along with two other suspects on January 29, but the other two were released after the woman was unable to identify them. Ibrahim is still being held in a cell in Kamuge.

The woman remains in a serious condition, although has been released from hospital and is being cared for by an elder from an undisclosed church.

Preparing My Daughter for Persecution in Iran

Iran girl
photo: young girl in Iran

Being incarcerated for your faith is one thing. But what would happen to your child if you were taken away? An Iranian mother shares how she had prepared her daughter for the day persecution arrived at their door.

“I knew the day would come…the day they would ring my doorbell and take me and my husband to prison. Although everyone around me thought I was a housewife, I was, in fact, involved in full-time ministry. The authorities were bound to find out.

“We started preparing our daughter Lily* for persecution when she was still in primary school. ‘When they come and take mom and dad away, don’t worry,’ we told her. ‘The Bible tells us it is normal to be persecuted as believers. They will take us to prison, ask us some questions, and hit us. Then we will come back.’”

The Day It Happened

“It was an early winter morning when the authorities came to our house. Lily was 12 at the time and had already left for school. They rang the bell and came to our apartment. They started searching everything. Then they ordered my husband and me to come with them.

“While we were being taken to prison, I knew what Lily would do when she was picked up from school by my sister—she would pray for us. And when she was afraid, she would pray more.

“In prison, my husband and I were split up. I was allowed to call Lily four times a week. I was interrogated daily and soon they found my weak point. My little girl. I told them everything they wanted to know about myself, but I refused to give the names of others. ‘Ok,’ they told me, ‘as long as you won’t give names, you can’t call your daughter.’

The Fear of Separation

“I was devastated. Back in my cell, I couldn’t stop crying. I knew that I did the right thing. But how could I live without knowing how my daughter was doing? How could she be comforted without hearing my voice?

“But while I was praying, all of the sudden I felt a warm wind stroking my cheeks. ‘Take it in,’ I heard the Lord saying.

Placing My Daughter in His Hands

“With every breath of warm air I took, I felt my body being filled with joy. I couldn’t sit anymore, I had to dance for joy and praise God. It lasted all night. All night I was dancing for the Lord, until the next morning I had the strength to put my beloved daughter in the hands of God.

“Not long after, I was released, as was my husband … I was very happy to see my little Lily again. She told me that she had been praying a lot for us. Spending these times in prayer and trusting the Lord in everything was a completely new experience for her. Looking back, she says that she never grew more in her faith then during that time we were in prison. I put my Lily in the hands of the Lord, and he had taken care of her.”

Holocaust Remembrance Day: “Never Again” is Happening Again and Again

Islamic Jew hatred antisemitism

By Pamela Geller

What was once a rally cry, an affirmation of our morality and humanity, has morphed into a mocking taunt. The again in “Never again” is happening again and again.

Hatred of the Jews and anti-semitic crimes are at worldwide records. The tiny Jewish state, a safe haven for Jews across the world, is under relentless assault.

One in four adults worldwide are “deeply infected with anti-Semitic attitudes.” the results of an unprecedented global survey.

Nearly half have never heard of the Holocaust, and only a third believe historical descriptions are accurate, the survey found. Carried out by First International Resources, the survey included 53,100 adults in 102 countries representing 88% of the world’s adult population.

Londoners mark Holocaust Remembrance day by electing their first Muslim mayor — a man who has shared a platform with open Jew-haters.

The UN, established in the wake of the Holocaust to insure “Never Again”, is driven by Jew hatred. It has been outright complicit in the demonization and dehumanization of Israel.

The world has changed a great deal from the time of the United Nations birth in 1945, and so has the United Nations. Sixty years ago democracies, both nascent and well established, comprised the majority of the founding nations of the UN.

The members of the General Assembly were strategically aligned primarily along what would become the lines of the Cold War. America was confident that the UN would be an organization which would work in tandem with American national interests in promoting the welfare of humankind and the basic rights of every human spirit.

The UN on Holocaust Remembrance Day: Where's the 'Never' in the 'Never Again'?

... countries fly outside the United Nations building in New York City

By Anne Bayefsky
Fox News

Thursday, May 5 is Holocaust Remembrance Day or “Yom Hashoah,” an occasion to remember and mourn the unique horror that resulted in the murder of 6 million Jews including one million children – unfathomable numbers that still shock the conscience of humankind. Except at the United Nations. Though the UN was built on the ashes of the Jewish people, in our time this organization plays a disturbing role in advancing anti-Semitism.

Antisemitism works in many ways. Devotees deny or minimize its very existence. Instead, they appropriate the suffering of their targets and invert the genuine victim and the actual perpetrator. The U.N. of the 21st century does all of this.

On April 27, 2016, the Palestinian’s UN representative Riyadh Mansour, held a press conference at UN headquarters in New York.

He said: “If you throw a stone…if you throw it at a moving car of the army or the terrorist settlers, they send you to jail for 20 years, and yet their representative in the Security Council…he paints them as terrorists. Guess what. All colonizers, all occupiers including those who suppressed the Warsaw uprising labelled those who were resisting them as terrorists.”

Jewish victims of Palestinian rock-throwers have been maimed for life with catastrophic brain injuries or have died as their cars careened out of control. According to the Palestinian spokesman, however, Israelis are like Nazis and Palestinians are their victims.

UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has been asked to condemn Mansour’s comments and to remove them from the UN website where they are now broadcast around the world 24/7 – because, for starters, these comments contradict the essence of the U.N. Charter. But the Secretary-General has refused to do so.

This is not an isolated incident. UN headquarters – visited by millions of American school children – hosts a Holocaust exhibit and also a Palestinian exhibit that is a model of historical revisionism. The Palestinians have succeeded in having the two exhibits placed side-by-side.

The UN has a webpage called “UN response to acts of terrorism.” It is continually updated and the current version covers acts from November 2015 to April 2016. The site lists terror attacks that took place in the following states: Afghanistan, Belgium, Burkina Faso, Chad, Côte d’Ivoire, Egypt, France, Indonesia, Iraq, Lebanon, Libya, Mali, Nigeria, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia, and Turkey. Israel doesn’t make the cut.

Britain’s Most Notorious Muslim Radical Preacher Defends UK Labour Leaders Accused of Anti-Semitism

 anjem choudary
Anjem Choudary, Radical Islamist Preacher

By Aaron Klein & Breitbart News

During an exclusive interview on Sunday, Britain’s most notorious radical Islamist preacher, Anjem Choudary, provided support for suspended Labour MP Naz Shah’s controversial Facebook post suggesting the relocation of Israel to the United States.

Choudary also defended the British Labour Party generally from charges of anti-Semitism, saying, “I think that the term anti-Semitism has been used as a tool to attack those who criticize Israel. And I think that’s become clear over the last few days.”

He was speaking in a joint interview with Breitbart News and this reporter’s Sunday night weekend talk radio program, “Aaron Klein Investigative Radio.”

Regarding Shah’s advocacy of relocating the Jewish state to Israel, Choudary stated:

As far as Muslims are concerned, we want the whole of Palestine, which includes what Israel currently occupies, liberated. And I think that what Naz Shah said is not that far from what we would prefer, which is that those who came to occupy the Muslim land of Palestine should be returned from where they came.

They are free to live in Russia and Poland and other places. But obviously do not occupy our land so that we are refugees in our own land.

Choudary ignored the existence of historic Jewish communities that have lived in Israel continuously for hundreds of years. And he glossed over the history of Jewish refugees immigrating to Israel because they were forced to flee their homes throughout the Arab world after the establishment of the Jewish state in 1948.

Choudary is a founder of the outlawed, pro-al-Qaida Al Muhajiroun organization in Britain. He is currently awaiting trial in the U.K. for allegedly encouraging support for the Islamic State.

KOREAN CHINESE PASTOR MARTYRED BY NORTH KOREAN SPIES

Voices of Hope from North Korea

Open Doors

North Korean secret agents have martyred a Korean Chinese pastor who lived in Chiangbai, a town on the Chinese side of the Sino-Korean border. Han Choong Yeol was active in helping North Korean refugees by giving them food, medicine, clothing and other goods they needed for survival back in North Korea.

Last Saturday (April 30th), pastor Han left his home just after noon and was supposed to return before 5 pm. When he didn’t come back, a large search was set up. Around 8 pm, his lifeless body was found, visibly maimed by stab and axe wounds. People who worked with Han described him as “extremely passionate for North Koreans.”

Han's ministry always came with a price. In November 2014, a deacon of his church was kidnapped and never heard of again. Pastor Han knew he was a target too, but continued his ministry.

Han was 49 and leaves behind a wife, a son and a daughter as well as the local Three Self-Church (600 members) he pastored.

Prayer points:

  • Thank God for the life and dedication of pastor Han
  • Pray for comfort for Han’s family and church members, who are now without a husband, father and shepherd. Also pray that they will be able to forgive the killers.
  • Pray for others involved in North Korea mission work, that God will make them courageous and will protect them.
  • Pray for forgiveness for the spies who murdered pastor Han. Pray they will repent and come to know the One for whom pastor Han gave his life.
  • Pray for the kidnapped deacon and the many other Christians held captive in North Korea.

Department of Education Publishes ‘Shame List’ of Faith-Based Colleges Seeking Title IX Exemption From Transgender Anti-Discrimination Rules

AP Photo/Toby Talbot

By Carly Hoilman
The Blaze

The U.S. Department of Education released a list of faith-based institutions of higher education that were granted exemptions under Title IX, the statute prohibiting sexual discrimination in colleges and universities.

The list comes after much petitioning from LGBT activist groups who requested the information with the goal of incorporating it into an anti-Christian initiative known as the “Shame List,” the Christian Post reported.

According to the list, more than 230 schools have received exemption from Title IX as of April 1, with more than 30 requests still pending. The number of schools seeking Title IX exemptions for religious reasons has climbed since December, when only 60 universities had put in their requests, the Christian post noted.

Noticeably missing from Friday’s document is evangelical Wheaton College.

According to Title IX, “No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving federal financial assistance.”

The Obama administration determined in 2014 that Title IX protection should include transgender individuals who experience sex discrimination.

Islamic Terror Attack at South Florida Synagogue Foiled by FBI

Before It's News

AVENTURA, Fla. (WSVN) — Federal agents arrested a man who, sources said, was planning to throw an explosive device into a South Florida synagogue.

According to law enforcement sources, the FBI set up a sting to thwart what they described as a terror attack at the Aventura Turnberry Jewish Center, Friday evening. Sources said agents posing as terrorists were able to stop the suspect, who, they said, may have converted to Islam.

Sources told 7News they are concerned about this case because the suspect wanted to take some type of explosive device and chuck it over the wall. Friday was the next-to-last day of Passover, and the center was crowded with people observing the holiday.

Concerned residents said they were disturbed by the arrest. “I think about, before we had a baby, that we used to go there for services, and God forbid, it could have been us,” said Stephanie Levine. “Thank God they stopped him, but had they not, it would have been such a horrible thing to happen to this neighborhood.”

Sources said the center was never in danger because the suspect was taken into custody before any harm was done.

“Of course it surprised me,” said area resident Richard Levinson. “Everybody says, ‘I live in a small town. It doesn’t happen here,’ but the sad part is, it happens everywhere.”

Resident Kim Tepper said she’s horrified by the turn of events but ultimately not that surprised. “It’s a very scary world, and you know what? I don’t think that anybody is safe anywhere,” she said. ‘We’d always thought, living in this area, that we could be targeted, so now you’re kind of confirming that for me. Not happy.”

FBI officials declined to comment on the investigation, but 7News has learned the suspect will appear in federal court early this week.

Pray for Tran Thi Hong, who was arrested and beaten by law enforcement for meeting with a human rights delegation from the US. Hong is the wife of Pastor Nguyen Cong Chinh, currently imprisoned for charges against the Vietnamese government.
In an interview with Radio Free Asia, Hong says that on the morning of April 14, local officers from Gia Lai Province forced her to go to the community ward. “Two men held my legs, two others held my arms, threw me inside the police car, and sent me to the community center. They brought me to a room in the third floor, and a woman who was waiting there slapped my face. I asked them why they were beating me, then two other ladies dragged me and pulled my hair.”
Hong says her captors asked her to cooperate, which she refused because the arrest and the beatings were unreasonable. “They told me I had to tell them what happened during the meeting with the freedom of religion delegation, and I didn’t reply. They stamped on my feet, hit my face and my body, and I lost my voice.”

Doctor Fired After Government Hears His Sermons

Dr. Eric Walsh (Photo: First Liberty)

Dr. Eric Walsh

By Douglas Ernst
World Net Daily

A Georgia pastor has filed a federal lawsuit alleging he was fired from the state’s Department of Public Health one day after handing over sermons at the agency’s request.

Dr. Eric Walsh contends that a job offer he accepted by DPH was suddenly terminated after the agency was given sermons he delivered on creationism, marriage, sexuality and other issues. The Seventh Day Adventist lay minister is represented by First Liberty, a prominent law firm specializing in religious liberty.

“No one in this country should be fired from their job for something that was said in a church or from a pulpit during a sermon,” First Liberty attorney Jeremy Dys told Fox News on Friday. “He was fired for something he said in a sermon. If the government is allowed to fire someone over what he said in his sermons, they can come after any of us for our beliefs on anything.”

Walsh’s lawsuit alleges that after he was hired as a district health director on May 7, 2014, investigators scoured the internet for public comments and took notes on his “religious beliefs and viewpoints on social, cultural and other matters of public concern as expressed in the sermons and other public addresses.”

DPH’s job offer was rescinded on May 16, 2014.

“I don’t believe I did anything wrong,” Walsh told the network. “This has been very painful for me. I really am a strong believer in the Constitution, but now I feel like maybe all these ideals and values that I was raised to believe – the ideals this country was founded upon – no longer exist.”

Nancy Nydam, acting director of communications for the Georgia Department of Public Health, emailed the Blaze on Thursday as Walsh’s story spread online.

“Georgia Department of Public Health policy requires the disclosure and written approval of secondary employment held by its employees. Dr. Walsh was extended a conditional offer of employment by DPH, subject to passing a routine background check. During the background check process, DPH learned Dr. Walsh failed to disclose outside employment to his previous public health employer, which also was in violation of California law,” Nydam said. “Due to violation of both California state law and DPH policy, the offer to Dr. Walsh was rescinded. During his interview, Dr. Walsh disclosed his religious beliefs to DPH staff and indicated that he preached at his church in California. Dr. Walsh’s religious beliefs had nothing to do with the decision to withdraw the offer.”

Readers at the Blaze said the uncanny timing of the termination indicated nothing more than a bureaucratic smokescreen.

Muslim Ruler's Daughter Arrested for Christian Faith: Conversion Followed 'Miraculous' Vision

Bible lit up

By Leo Hohmann
World Net Daily

The daughter of a Muslim ruler in the Middle East recently had a miraculous encounter with Jesus Christ that has caused her to repudiate her faith in Allah and openly express her faith in Jesus.  As a result, she has been placed under house arrest.

As a member of a prominent family, she was not seeking such an encounter, but it presented itself in a way that she found difficult to ignore.

In fact, those who know her say Najima (her real name and her country are withheld for her safety) was a faithful Muslim. She followed the Five Pillars of Islam, never missed the required five-times-a-day prayers, gave to the poor, fasted and followed all the rules for living as a Muslim woman.

While studying at a Western university, she noticed a small piece of paper stuck in a crease at the table at which she was sitting. It was part of a Bible tract about Jesus Christ.

It read: “For God hath made Him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him” (2 Corinthians 5:21).

She thought it was strange and asked herself, “How can Jesus be sin for us?”
She threw the tract in the trash can, thinking that would be the end of it. But the verse kept haunting her. She tried to forget it and went to bed.

No matter how much she tried to forget, the verse continued to project itself before her mind. She could not sleep.

Then came a presence that lit up her room as if the sun was shining through the window at midnight.

Then came a voice: “Daughter, you’re a sinner. There is none righteous, no, not one: All are gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; But I came to take all of your sins. I did ransom for many. Believe me and accept me. I give you eternal life.”

She understood it was the voice from Jesus Christ, and she knelt down and accepted him as her personal savior and Lord.

Anti-Israel Students Trap California University President to Prove They Aren’t ‘Terrorists’

Following the posting of a controversial flier at San Diego State University that listed names of anti-Israel students, alleging they had connections to terrorist groups, dozens of protesters trapped the college president in a car for about two hours.

The ordeal began on the third floor of the Student Union, where students knew president Elliott Hirshman would be, according to CBS 8. From there, the protesters followed him down the stairs and out the door, when he ended up huddled inside a police car for more than one hour.

The controversial poster was first circulated around SDSU’s campus by conservative writer David Horowitz’s Freedom Center, which is known for posting provocative broadsides at various college campuses.

The frustration with Hirshman began when, after the poster was brought to his attention, he failed to offer a response that satisfied the anti-Israel students who were accused of associating themselves with Palestinian terrorist organizations.

“I had people from my classes that did not know I was part of activism, and they were like, ‘Why is your name up there?’” student Tessa Wiley, whose name was on the poster, said.

In the email the president first published, he said the university supports the rights of all groups to voice their opinions on political issues, but recognizes the problems that could arise from publishing specific individuals’ names, adding that it could discourage other students from taking part in the campus’s political discourse.

Witnesses Tell UN of Genocide of Christians in Middle East

NEW YORK, April 29 (C-Fam) Held by terrorist captors, an Iraqi woman named Khalia resisted their demands that she abandon her Christian faith. Her story was told at the UN this week, along with other accounts of atrocities suffered by Christians and religious minorities in the Middle East at the hands of the Islamic State, or ISIS.

According to experts, 80% of acts of religious persecution worldwide are committed against Christians. At an event hosted by the Holy See along with CitizenGO, Mas Libres, and In Defense of Christians (IDC), experts and victims called on the international community to stop the violence, provide humanitarian support for victims, and ensure religious freedom to Christians and other minority religious groups.

Defining the situation as genocide is an important step in determining an appropriate response. Last month, the United States formally declared the actions of the Islamic State to be genocide, joining Pope Francis and the European Parliament. This finding by the U.S. was credited in part to a report submitted by the Knights of Columbus and IDC. Khalia’s account is one of many contained in its almost 300 pages.

Nearly two weeks after a Chinese pastor and his wife were buried alive defending their church from destruction, local authorities have ruled in favor of the Protestant house church’s claim to its land.

After a local business wanted to take over the property that Beitou Church in Zhumadian sat on, a government-backed demolition crew was sent to destroy the church. And when the pastor, Li Jiangong, and his wife, Ding Cuimei, stepped in front of a bulldozer, it didn’t stop.

“Bury them alive for me,” a member of the demolition team said, according to China Aid which reported both the tragic incident and the ensuing legal victory. “I will be responsible for their lives.”

The couple were shoved into a pit and covered with dirt, according to China Aid.

Li manage to free himself. But before he could dig his wife out, Ding suffocated.

The demolition crew is being detained while their actions are being investigated, the local police station told China Aid.

While criminal charges are still pending, a government investigation has concluded that the land belongs to the church.

“This is a definite legal victory for the church,” stated China Aid. “The task force concluded the investigation [by] stating … that pastor Li Jiangong's church has the sole authority for the usage of the land as a religious site and should belong to the church for use. It rules no individual or other organization should claim the land from the church.”

Five military judges heard oral arguments Wednesday in the appeal of a U.S. Marine punished through a court-martial for refusing to remove Bible verses from her workstation, and a retired general says the case could determine whether there really is religious freedom in the U.S. military.

Lance Cpl. Monifa Sterling lost her original court case, as the court ruled the Religious Freedom Restoration Act did not apply to the the type of religious expression she was displaying and did not protect her from punishment for refusing to remove the verses.

A decision is expected this summer.

Retired U.S. Army Lt. Gen. William “Jerry” Boykin was in the United State Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces for Wednesday’s oral arguments before the five-judge panel. Boykin told WND and Radio America it’s likely to be a 3-2 decision.

“Two of them were supporting the actions of the Marine Corps,” Boykin said. “Two of them were supporting the defendant, Monifa Sterling. The chief judge held his cards very close to his chest. We came out thinking the decisive vote will be the chief judge.”

However the court rules, Boykin said the decision will reverberate throughout the military.

“If they uphold her appeal and she is exonerated on this, it’s a strong, strong message to all of the military that you must protect the religious rights of service members,” Boykin explained. “On the other hand, if it is upheld and her special court-martial stands, I think it portends the situation in the military with regard to religious freedom is going to decline.”
