The Sword of the Lord and Gideon:

George Washington Carver c1910 - Restoration.jpg

1864-1943 was an agricultural chemist of international fame.

He revolutionized the economy of the South by introducing hundreds of uses for the peanut, soy bean, pecan, and sweet potato in the place of cotton. Carver named his laboratory “God’s Little Workshop.” He never took scientific text books into it. He merely asked God how to perform his experiments. Speaking to a women’s group in 1924 he declared before the 500 assembled: “God is going to reveal to us things He has never revealed before if we put our hand in His. No books ever go into my laboratory. The thing I am to do and the way of doing it are revealed to me the moment I am inspired to create something new. Without God to draw aside the curtain I would be helpless.” In 1939 when Carver was awarded the Roosevelt Medal he remarked: “The secret of my success? It is simple. It is found in the Bible. Proverbs 3:6 “IN ALL THY WAYS ACKNOWLEDGE HIM AND HE WILL DIRECT YOUR PATH!”
